Almost all consultation appointments turn into treatments. For this reason, a mini-consultation is done at the beginning of every treatment appointment where all questions can be answered. Please read below to learn more:
We will first talk about the treatment in detail and answer all lingering questions. The entire appointment usually takes 2 hours from start to finish, with most of the time spent shaping the brows. The microblading portion lasts 30-45 minutes.
It is not painful, only uncomfortable at times. The level of discomfort is relatively minor. Some liken it to tweezing two to three hairs at the same time. Topical anesthetics are used to help ease the discomfort during the treatment.
The healing process is a bit special: the brows are very dark days 1-5, they then begin to flake and peel during days 7-10. The color is very light after the peeling stage, but continues to come back to the surface as the skin heals from underneath.
Healing is considered complete after 28 days, and the necessary touch-up is then scheduled. Following all aftercare instructions carefully will ensure the best result.
The touch-up appointment is necessary because everyone heals differently and therefore the outcomes vary. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust the color and brow thickness by adding more strokes. YOUR BROWS ARE NOT CONSIDERED COMPLETE UNTIL AFTER YOUR SECOND APPOINTMENT.
On average, microbladed brows will last 1-3 years. The client’s own skin and lifestyle factors are the primary factor in determining how long/well color is retained. Color slowly fades over time, and most clients desire refresh from 18 months for brows that are always looking their best.
THE PROCEDURE CANNOT BE DONE IF YOU ARE PREGNANT, BREASTFEEDING, TAKING BLOOD THINNERS OR ACNE MEDICATION. Please be advised that very oily skin will need more frequent refills than dry or normal skin. Please also see the recommended instructions for preparing for your appointment:
The brows will slowly continue to fade the longer you go without a refill. The color will not change to anything undesirable - such as blue, green or purple - given we only use the highest quality pigments from PhiBrows at our studio. Over time, the hairstrokes may become patchy, fade to a soft shadow, or disappear completely, depending on how much time has passed and your individual skin/body conditions.
Absolutely! Please refer to example photos on this website, as well as my social media channels, to see many examples of clients such as yourself. Each client’s face is individually measured and assessed to determine proper placement and shape of the brows. You will also discuss size and color at the time of your treatment.
The best way to determine if you can do a new microblading treatment is to contact us and include a clear, hi-resolution image of your brows as they currently appear. Very dark color from previous treatments may need to be removed prior to doing microblading to ensure that the new hairstrokes are visible. Extremely scarred or damaged skin may also pose issues to proper color retention and healing.
